Live Extreme Siberia
Discover a wonderful environment in Siberia Extremeña, nickname used in the region when projects began to be made to build roads, a railway line and a swamp, doing all kinds of outdoor activities. From visiting beautiful towns like Guadalupe, Mérida, Cáceres, Monfrague or Puebla de Alcocer itself, to doing birding, taking a dip in one of the swamp beaches or various hiking trails.
Since the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century, Russian Siberia was constantly in the national newspapers given the construction of the Trans-Siberian, the train that links Moscow with the most distant East of Russia. The knowledge of this unknown steppe led the locals to compare the existing remoteness of the towns of the La Paz region to Badajoz, the capital of the province, with the remoteness of the villages in a land as vast as Russia. This similarity between a region with another brought, consequently, that the term Siberia Extremeña be coined.
